Best Beaches Near Albufeira

Your Beach Guide from Casa da Parra

The Algarve coast near Albufeira offers some of Portugal's most stunning beaches, all within easy reach of Casa da Parra in Guia.

Praia da Galé — 10 minutes

Our nearest beach and a local favourite. Split into two sections — the western side has dramatic rock formations and sheltered coves, while the eastern stretch offers wide golden sands perfect for families. Water sports are available in season.

Praia dos Salgados — 8 minutes

A long, sweeping beach backed by the Salgados lagoon (a protected wetland and birdwatching spot). Less crowded than the main Albufeira beaches, with a relaxed, natural atmosphere.

Praia de São Rafael — 12 minutes

Often ranked among the Algarve's most beautiful beaches. Sheltered by golden cliffs with crystal-clear water — exceptional for snorkelling. Can get busy in peak summer, but worth it.

Praia da Coelha — 14 minutes

A hidden gem tucked between cliffs. Small, intimate, and rarely crowded even in August. Access is via a short walk down from the car park — the effort makes it feel like a private beach.

Praia da Marinha — 25 minutes

Regularly listed among the world's best beaches. Stunning cliff scenery, natural arches, and turquoise water. Essential for a day trip — arrive early in summer for parking.

Praia da Falésia — 20 minutes

Six kilometres of unbroken sand beneath striking red-orange cliffs. One of the longest beaches in the Algarve and never feels crowded. Access from the eastern (Vilamoura) end is easiest.

Getting there: All beaches are easily reached by car from Casa da Parra. Free parking is available at most, though Praia da Marinha fills up early in high season. We're happy to share our local tips — just ask when you enquire.
