Dining Near Casa da Parra
Guia is famous in Portugal as the "capital of chicken piri-piri", but the dining scene around Albufeira and the central Algarve stretches far beyond.
Fine Dining
Vila Joya — 8 minutes
Two Michelin stars. One of Portugal's finest restaurants, set in a clifftop villa overlooking the sea. Chef Dieter Koschina's tasting menu is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Book well in advance.
Bon Bon — 20 minutes (Carvoeiro)
One Michelin star. Chef Louis Anjos creates inventive Portuguese cuisine. More relaxed than Vila Joya, but equally impressive.
Local Favourites
Ramires — 5 minutes
The most famous chicken piri-piri restaurant in the Algarve (some say in all of Portugal). Simple, no-nonsense, and absolutely delicious. Expect a queue in summer — it's worth it.
O Teodósio — 5 minutes
Ramires' main local rival for the piri-piri crown. Locals are split on which is better — try both and decide for yourself.
Seafood
O Marinheiro — 15 minutes (Albufeira)
Outstanding fresh fish and seafood in the old town. The cataplana (traditional Algarve seafood stew) is exceptional.
A Ruína — 15 minutes (Albufeira)
Right on the beach in old town Albufeira. Stunning setting, fresh catches of the day, and prices that won't break the bank.
Family-Friendly
Guia Shopping Centre restaurants — 5 minutes
Several casual options including pizza, burgers, and Portuguese cuisine. Handy for a quick family meal.
Algarve Shopping food court — 10 minutes
Wide variety including international chains and local options. Air-conditioned comfort for hot days.
BBQ at the villa: Don't overlook Casa da Parra's own outdoor BBQ area. Pick up fresh fish from the Albufeira fish market (mornings only) or local butcher, and cook al fresco with views.
